Professor Anisa Mosam

Professor Anisa Mosam is an Associate Professor and  in Dermatology, Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine, University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), and Head Clinical Unit at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital. Professor Mosam has over 30 years of experience in both public and private sectors. Her clinical expertise encompasses adult, paediatric, and general dermatology, with particular interest in autoimmune  diseases, HIV-related skin conditions, neglected tropical diseases, and global health dermatology. She has contributed significantly to dermatological education and research in South Africa, authoring numerous publications in peer-reviewed.

Dr Kiasha Govender

Dr Kiasha Govender is a specialist dermatologist practicing in KwaZulu Natal. She completed her undergraduate medical degree at the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine in Natal, graduating summa cum laude as the top graduate in her class.
She underwent registrar training at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Witwaterstrand in Johannesburg. After leaving the public sector she was fortunate to train and work at two prestigious dermatological laser and medical centres in Johannesburg, where she developed an interest in laser and aesthetic medicine. She achieved a diploma in aesthetic medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine in 2012.
She has since gone on to obtain a Masters in Medicine focusing on the impact of atopic eczema on the quality of life of children and their families, with her thesis passing with distinction.
Dr Govenders expertise has been sort by industry, academic institutions and various publications seeing her publishing extensively in academic journals and textbooks. She is currently a senior consultant and acting Head of Clinical Unit of the department of dermatology at Victoria Mxenge (previously King Edward viii) hospital. She is an honorary lecturer at the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine, University of KwaZulu Natal and has previously served as the Acting Head of Department of the Department of dermatology at the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine at UKZN. She is actively involved in undergraduate teaching and curriculum development as well as post graduate teaching and Masters degree supervision.
